WeekdayTorah.net

General notes about this web site
  • The Hebrew text is adapted from the Unicode/XML Leningrad Codex - Version UXLC 1.6 which is an online version of the Leningrad Codex (c. 1008 CE).
  • This text was then compared with the Jerusalem Crown: The Bible of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem which is based on the work of Rav Mordechai Breuer (1921-2007) on the Aleppo Codex (c. 930 CE).
  • Another invaluable resource in preparing these texts was Scroll Scraper (a virtual tikkun). This resource made it feasible to replicate, where possible, the position of certain words in particular locations within a sefer Torah.
Kamatz Katan
When the vowel kamatz (a T-shaped vowel beneath a letter) is taller than usual, it is a kamatz katan and should be pronounced like the letter “o” in the word “go.” An example from Parashat Noah appears below.

Sh’va Na
Please note that when the vowel sh’va (two dots aligned vertically beneath a letter) appears in bold, it should be pronounced with a quick sound (like the letter “e” in the word “because”). An example from Parashat Noah appears below.

How-to-print Instructions
When printing a PDF, in some instances, in order to fit everything within the margins, select either “Fit” or “Shrink oversized pages” in the "Page Size & Handling" section. Refer to image below.
